If you don’t know anything about cooking this book is for you if you do have an idea it also for you since it will introduce you to a great range of recipes and if you are an “advanced sauce maker” you will enjoy some of the more advanced yet easy to prepare recipes. You will find simple recipes explained easily and sometimes accompanied by drawings to help you understand what we are talking about. There are also some ideas for those chefs at home who have greater expertise. You can substitute lettuce for tomato melon for mango or oregano for parsley and… nothing happens. Sorry yes something does happen: it becomes different but not worse. We provide you with correct proportions so that you follow them at the beginning and when you are feeling more confident you can disregard them and create your own variations. But that will come later on…for now I’m content to see the book getting worn and covered with oil stains which I take to be an unmistakable sign that you like it and are benefiting from it.
