Product Overview
"Lamelas, Buenos Aires" brings together pioneer artwork by artist David Lamelas (b. Argentina 1941), presenting drawings, installations and sculptures in an exhibition curated by Mara Jos Herrera, chief of the research Department of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes. The museographic script aims at highlighting the importance of the art production of Lamelas in Argentina during the 1970's and their role in the development of national and international conceptual art. The exhibition incudes the installation "Time as activity. Buenos Aires 2010", an Argentinean version of the one he has made in the last forty years in diverse cites all over the world: a series of specifi sculptures entitled Site Specific; and the video installation "Situacin de tiempo" (1967-2011), an emblematic work of the "art of media" reconstructed with last-generation televisions. Also included are his earlier work (drawings and sketches from the 1970's); his audio installation Far&Lejos, (2010), created in collaboration with musicians of Los Angeles, CA, a place where the artist lives and works part of the year and the photographic series "Rockstar" (Character appropriation), where the artist shows himself as an artwork.
