Product Overview
This book presents an exploration of the way in which the seeds of avant-garde movements took root in Spanish literary life, from the futurist manifesto published in the journal Prometeo to the threshold of the 1930s, when a conjunction of political and literary events led to the criticism of the avant-garde standards forged in previous years. Through an examination of journals and of selected essays, this study contextualizes avant-garde movements in their social and institutional space, and calibrates the modalities of their reception, the stages of acceptance and rejection, and the evolution of avant-garde ideas through their programs and manifestos, as well as through journals tangential or even hostile to the movements.
