Japón

The photographic series "Japan" comprises images that are nourished by elements of a history of centuries of orientalism in the West, from the floating distribution of the elements in the "ukiyo" -the old Japanese prints-, the pseudo Fuji mountains of Tierra del Fuego; the "shunga" eroticism and the "hentai" hardcore, the fashion of the stained glass windows of the Once and the technological utopia in the field of instant photography. The photos that make up this album were taken in the years before the pandemic, most of them in Buenos Aires, although there are some from places as dissimilar as Egypt, Belgium, Tierra del Fuego, Paris, Rio de Janeiro or Rosario. In any case, the place where they were taken does not matter, because they do not describe this or that city, but speak of a world that today, after these two years of uncertainty and restrictions, seems to belong to the past.
