Film director and photographer Robinson Savary (b. France) photographed some transgender and transvestite prostitutes of Buenos Aires between 2009 and 2011. The outcome was a series of black and white images that portray the feminine aspect of 13 "Girls of Palermo" who were "shot at night in the studio where I have been living and working in Buenos Aires for more than 3 years. The models were chosen amongst the transgender community working in the woods of Palermo, the most prestigious red light district of its kind in the city. Each photo session functioned as a one-to-one encounter. I wanted to capture these people exactly as I saw them in the woods, using nothing else but artificial light only to magnify their beauty."--P. [27].
