The opening section of the book features a compilation of the elder Cirlot s texts including a new edition of the prose poem La Dama de Vallcarca an interview with Andre Breton and other pieces in which Cirlot pays tribute to the Austrian composer Arnold Schonberg who composed the opera Moses and Aaron while staying in Vallcarca. The second part of the book is an essay on literary creation and philosophy in which Victoria Cirlot analyses reinterprets and finds the underlying theme the preceding texts have in common. In doing so she reflects on her father s relationship with Judaism and the great respect he had for the Jewish people and culture. The final section of the book is a photographic complement in which Manel Armengol s photographs of Vallcarca illustrate the mysterious atmosphere of a place that called to Juan Eduardo Cirlot and Schonberg so strongly.
